Virginia Chaplains Association

Welcome

 To The VCA Homepage

In May of 1990, a small group of pastoral caregivers met at the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville, with the Reverend Don Gumm, D. Min., former president of the North Carolina Chaplains Association and President-Elect of the College of Chaplains (presently known as the Association of Professional Chaplains).  The group voted to organize as an association and a steering committee was given the task.  In October of that year, Rev. Bill Oglesby spoke at the Educational Conference on “Pastoral Care in the New Decade of the 90’s”.  Those present then approved the Constitution and By-laws.  With that vote the Virginia Chaplains Association was founded.

The purpose of the Virginia Chaplains Association is to offer those engaged in healthcare chaplaincy and related ministries an opportunity for fellowship and a channel for the exchange of experience, ideas and concerns.

VCA promotes:  Education — Networking — Nurture — Advocacy.

Membership is open to all ordained and/or ecclesiastically endorsed persons who are involved in healthcare chaplaincy or pastoral ministry.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our site.

Blessings on you,

Reverend Jill Kundtz, BCC
